This unique Eco village resort is located in a archipelago of a handful of islands in the Indian Ocean off the Kenyan coast and has long been known to attract the rich & famous from Europe, during various lockdowns this trend has accelerated with many homes being bought up by notorious stars in the last year. A UNESCO world heritage town the island is teeming with culture, empty beaches, romantic dhow trips, exclusive private homes: its a low key getaway for high end travellers.
The Eco beach resort was established as a small B&B in 2000 by a English mother & daughter. The resort slowly grew into what is it today: an established restaurant, bar & B&B at the heart of the community. With weekly film nights, monthly live music events, cocktail parties & Sunday brunches is the go to beach hang out.
From Sundance Theatre Institute retreats, private parties for up to 300 pax & solo travellers staying for weeks on end, the resort is an extremely versatile business located on the beach front with incredible views, and is West facing so is unique to the East coast with fantastic sunsets.
The restaurant is well known Kenya wide for the seafood special! Also on offer is full al a carte menu with lots of seafood and vegan options. The potential for developing the restaurant is immense with the beach being utilised & the front area of the plot being developed. Due to the longevity of the business and its standing in the area most tourists, will take a boat over to visit our resort for the day.
There is a great Chill out area ( Library – Yoga studio)
Located on the beach front this is a multifaceted 1 acre beach front plot with the best swimming, sunset & mooring access on the beach & a great opportunity to monopolise on the existing reputation of the business.
With a 40 meter beach frontage and 100 meters back to the road, which circles the island, making access from beach & land easy. The plot has been developed and has a 60,000 litre water storage tank, new electrics & solar power.
(The island is expecting KPLC to install power within the course of this year.)
Some structures for housing exist, new bar area & new kitchen built in 2021 and this could be utilised or a whole new development could be imagined. The plot also has commercial usage & could be an interesting opportunity for a business with existing restaurant and lodge facilities. The plot has established acacia trees & 1 ancient Baobab tree.
Both neighbouring plots are privately owned and rented to high end visitors, the archipelago is often in the press with reports on the celebrities that frequent the islands.
